I have not examined whether there are limitations within ODF v1.2 that preclude or inhibit the method of drawing being more Bezier-point based. Please post a link to any bugs you file in a comment below using the format “fdo#123456”. The QA team will be happy to help you triage your feature request in the bugtracker. Activate the Bezier Tool (B) Draw a Straight Line on the Page. Draw the Shape or Add the Object to the Page. Don’t forget to mark your bug as an ‘enhancement’. Step-by-Step to Cut an Object in Half in Inkscape. Provide a link to this thread if necessary and indicate a different type of usage by reference to a tool where the behaviour is preferred e.g., Inkscape. Make sure you 'close' the shape - in other words, your final click should be on top of the first node. Select the Bezier tool from the icons down the left side, then draw a rough rectangular shape on the canvas. Open the Fill and Stroke Settings Window. Another thing to try is basically same as above, except draw the shape with the Bezier tool. Select the Bezier Tool (B) Create a Line by Clicking to Add Nodes. Please file an enhancement bug and provide as much information about this new feature as possible. Step-by-Step of Making an Arrow in Inkscape. It is a fairly short list but there does not appear to be one related to the issue raised in this question. This is a list of currently open enhancement requests reported against Draw. Drawing any kind of line (or in this case curve, which is the toolbar button category) should be based around the Bezier-point and show these points while drawing. It is indicative of the click-n-drag use of the shape tools (e.g., rectangle, ellipse, basic shapes, etc.) being employed for all tools. ![]() To have editable arrow make a clone of the shape and define it to marker. It can be made better if you do the next things before defining the shape to be a marker: If you want to prevent stroke thickness variations convert strokes to paths. ![]() Unfortunately this problem appears to affect many tools e.g., line, line with an arrow, all the curve variants, all the lines and arrow variants. The line thickness is changed and the size also is finally decided by Inkscape. For the clarity of others, this is the polygon tool in Draw: ![]() Behaviour should be more like that in Inkscape, when drawing “freehand lines” or “Bezier curves / straight lines,” IMO.
